Example 1: This artifact is a wiki page that I helped to created for the Building Online Learning Communities course at CUW. For this assignment, I worked with small groups to create technology reviews of different digital tools that can be useful in the classroom. On this page, the particular reviews that I worked on include Bubbl.us, Twitter, and Jing. Within these reviews, we discussed key features of the tool, technical requirements, educational uses, safety and ethical considerations, and further resources on the topic. This artifact meets Goal 1 because it shows that I can gather information about different technologies that can be used to facilitate and inspire learning and creativity, and I can share my findings with others in a public space that can be accessed at will. Example 2: This artifact is a discussion post that I made in one of my CUW courses. The post is about editorial cartoons, and how to use them in the classroom. First, I chose an editorial cartoon to analyze for point of view. Then, I looked at lesson plans on www.cagle.com for middle school students, and described best practices for using editorial cartoons in the classroom. Finally, I found and listed other useful sources of cartoons. This artifact meets Goal 1 because it shows that I know about different ways to inspire learning and creativity through the use of images on the Internet.
